Elk Grove, Sacramento County
Elk Grove voted to become a city in 2000 and grew faster than any other large city in the country between 2004 and 2005, according to census estimates. New neighborhoods replaced dairy and farm land south of Sacramento. More than a hundred parks are scattered through them, most run by the Cosumnes Community Services District.
